Date Cookies

   Cook dates, salt, sugar, water and lemon juice until thick; add nuts.

   Cream butter, brown sugar and eggs.

   Add flour, salt, soda and vanilla.

   Chill in fridge 1/2 hour.

   Divide in 3 parts. Roll out to 1/4-inch rectangle.

   Spread thin layer of date mix. Roll up like a jelly roll and chill until firm enough to slice. Bake at 350u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes.
