Date Cake With Walnut Topping

   cook together the boiling water cut up dates and baking soda.

   add butter

   cool.

   add sugar and eggs add dry ingredients

   bake 1/2 hour in greased pans at 375 degrees til done

   cool

   when cold put walnut mixture on

   for walnut mixture cook altogether about 10 minutes

   cool serve with whipped cream.
