Toss the remaining ingredientsexcept the egginto a food processor.

Process until the walnuts are pulverized and everything is well combined.

Pour into a quart-sized plastic bag.

Preheat your oven on its broiler setting (the lower temperature one if there are two settings).

Slightly beat the egg in a small bowl.

Slice the tofu into slices about 1/2-inch thick; there should be 7 or so slices.

One by one, coat the slices in egg on both sides.

Place them one at a time into the plastic bag with the walnut mixture and shake until covered.

Place on parchment paper on a baking sheet.

Broil the tofu on the top rack of your oven for 4-5 minutes per side.
