For the cake:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Cream together the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and almond extract and mix well.

In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, alternately with the sour cream, until smooth. Spread half of the batter into a well-greased loaf pan (one large, or two smaller). Spread the cranberry sauce over this, then top with remaining batter.

Bake 50-60 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean and the top is lightly browned. Allow to cool 10 minutes in the pan, them remove and cool completely before glazing.

Mix all ingredients until sugar dissolves. Pour or spoon over the cooled coffee cake and let set. Serve at room temperature. You can also wrap the finished coffe cake in foil and freeze for up to a week.
