Pastry for one crust for 9-inch tart or 10-inch pie
4 tablespoons soft butter
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup pure maple syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup Calvados, bourbon or brandy
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
3 eggs, lightly beaten
1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
1 cup heavy cream, whipped (optional)

Place the cider in a saucepan and cook until reduced to 1 cup.

Line pan with pastry and bake it until it is golden.

Readjust oven to 375 degrees.
