Christmas Shortbread Cookies

   In a bowl, cream softened butter with powdered sugar until combined and fluffy. Gradually mix in flour, cornstarch, and vanilla. Mixture will need to be well-blended.

   Using a 1-inch cookie scoop, roll dough into balls and place onto an ungreased baking sheet. With the tines of a fork, press lightly onto the tops of the balls to flatten slightly. Decorate cookies with sprinkles, or make small indentations and add halved cherries.

   Bake at 350u00b0F for 20-22 minutes or until bottoms of cookies are lightly browned. Cool 5 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks.
