(2 oz.) unsweetened chocolate, melted; 1/2 c. chopped walnuts; 1/4 c. maraschino cherries, chopped; 18 marshmallows, cut in half; 2 Tbsp. butter; 2 blocks Hershey's chocolate; 3 Tbsp. milk; 1 1/2 c. confectioners sugar; 1/2 tsp. vanilla; pinch of salt

1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. each: soda and salt
2/3 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 unbeaten egg
1/4 c. maraschino cherry juice
2 Tbsp. milk
2 sq. (2 oz.) unsweetened chocolate, melted
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1/4 c. maraschino cherries, chopped
18 marshmallows, cut in half
2 Tbsp. butter
2 blocks Hershey's chocolate
3 Tbsp. milk
1 1/2 c. confectioners sugar

Sift together first 3 ingredients; set aside.

Add brown sugar to shortening.

Blend in egg.

Stir in half the dry ingredients. Add cherry juice and 2 tablespoons milk; stir in remaining dry ingredients.

Blend in chocolate, walnuts and cherries. Drop by rounded teaspoonful onto ungreased cookie sheet.
