Chocolate Layer Cheesecake Recipe

   In mixing bowl, cut butter into lb.

   cake mix till proportionately distributed.

   Reserve 1 c. mix.

   Press remaining crumb mix proportionately over bottom and halfway up sides of 9-inch springform pan.

   (I do not have this kind of pan and use a large pie plate.)

   Bake crust at 350 degrees for 20 min.

   Beat cream cheese, sugar and vanilla till smooth.

   Beat in Large eggs, one at a time.

   Remove half of batter to separate bowl.

    Stir in melted chocolate; spread over crumb crust.

    Sprinkle reserved c. of crumb mix proportionately over chocolate layer.

    Top with remaining cheese mix, spreading gently to cover.

    Return to oven and bake 45 to 50 min.

    Cold.

    Chill 8 hrs or possibly overnight.

    Decorate with whole and sliced berries; brush with melted jelly.
