Preheat oven to (375 degrees F) (190 degrees C) with rack in the center of the oven...line two baking sheets with parchment paper

In a bowl, beat the butter until smooth and creamy..add white and brown sugers and beat for about 2 minutes...beat in eggs one at a time , mixing after each addition..add vanilla and beat until incorporated.

In separate bowl , mix flour,baking soda and salt..add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients until combained...adding the chocolate chips while mixing..if mixture is too soft cover and refrigerate until firm ( from 30 min to 2 hours ).

For large cookies , use about a 2 tbsp icecream scooper or with two spoons drop 2 tbsp of dough onto prepared parchment paper

Bake for about 10-15 minutes ...or until golden brown around the edges...cool on wire rack
