Chocolate Chip Cake

   Put dates, boiling water and baking soda together and let cool.

   Mix shortening, sugar, salt, cocoa, eggs and flour and add the cooled date mixture.

   Pour into an 8 1/2 x 13-inch baking pan (greased).

   Sprinkle chocolate chips, sugar and cut walnuts together on top.

   Bake for 45 minutes at 350u00b0.
