Chocolate Caramel Cake

   Make single-layer cake according to package directions.

   Remove cake from oven, let cool slightly, then pierce all over with a fork.

   Heat caramel sauce in microwave for 1 minute.

   Pour caramel sauce over warm cake.

   Chill cake in fridge for half an hour.

   For frosting, heat 2 T. sugar over medium heat until it dissolves and turns golden brown, set aside.

   Combine remaining sugar, butter, and cream in saucepan and cook on medium, stirring constantly until boiling.

   Add caramelized sugar and boil.

   Cook another 2 minutes, stirring constantly.

    Remove from heat and beat until desired consistency.

    Frost cooled cake and garnish with caramel pieces.
