Start your batter by whisking together your dry ingredients (flour through salt) in a small bowl, until the brown sugar is thoroughly incorporated

Put butter into a mixing bowl. Cream it with a hand mixer on medium speed for a minute and a half, then add the molasses and beat until incorporated (the molasses should only take about 30 seconds, to blend in). Then add your eggs and vanilla extract and beat until they're incorporated.

Drop scoops of the batter onto a parchment paper lined cookie sheet, with a heaping 1 1/2 tablespoon sized cookie scoop. If you don't have a cookie scoop, a regular tablespoon will work. Leave about 2 inches between each cookie. Bake for 10 minutes per batch.
