1/2 c. butter
1 1/4 c. shortening (butter flavored Crisco)
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. unsifted flour
3/4 c. cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped nuts and/or chocolate chips

Cream the butter, peanut butter and shortening with sugar in a large mixing bowl.

Blend into creamed mixture. Stir in nuts and chocolate chips.

Drop by teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake at 350u00b0 for 8 to 9 minutes (do not overbake). Cookies will be soft; they will puff during baking and flatten upon cooling.
