Carbonara

   Dice bacon and slice mushrooms into smallish pieces.

   Lightly fry for a few minutes until they are approximately half cooked.

   Add the cream, basil and any spices; simmer on low heat.

   Meanwhile, cook fettucine according to package directions.

   The cream will simmer down and turn a light brownish colour.

   About 90 seconds before the fettucine is ready, add spring onions.

   Serve immediately on top of the pasta.

   Grate Parmesan on top for added flavor.
