Bread and Butter Pudding

   Cut bread into 4 triangles.

   Butter a pie dish that holds 1 1/2 pints liquid.

   Layer bread and dried fruit finishing with bread.

   Beat the eggs and sugar together.

   Pour in the hot milk and vanilla essence.

   Pour custard mix over bread layers and leave for 15 mins to allow the custard to soak into the bread.

   Bake in a moderate oven for 45 min or until the custard is set.

   Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
