Heat milk until lukewarm. Add yeast and stir until dissolved. Sift flour into a large bowl and make a well in the center. Pour in yeast mixture and carefully incorporate to form a smooth dough. Cover and leave in a warm place for 15 mins to proof.

Add almond paste, almond extract, butter, eggs, 1 tsp salt, sugar and vanilla extract and knead until smooth. Cover and leave in a warm place for 30 mins.

Preheat oven to 350u00b0F. Turn dough out onto a floured surface and cut into 8 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a 20 inch log then twist each log into a wreath. Place on a lined baking tray, brush with egg yolks and bake for about 15 mins, until golden brown. Serve with Easter eggs.
