Bonnie'S Simple Sugar Cookies

   Cream the shortening, sugar and vanilla.

   Add egg; beat until mixture is light and fluffy.

   Sift together the dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, blending well. Divide dough in half.

   Chill 1 hour.

   While rolling out one half, keep the other chilled until you are ready to roll it.

   On lightly floured surface, roll a little more than 1/8 inch thick.

   Bake on ungreased cookie sheets in 375u00b0 oven for 10 to 12 minutes.

   Cool slightly and remove from pan.

   Frost with canned frosting or make your own.

    Decorate and serve.
