Blondie's Mom's Sweet Vanilla Spiced Hot Chocolate

   Combine the milk and the vanilla bean in a small saucepan over low heat.

   Simmer for 10 minutes.

   Remove the bean.

   Add the chocolate and stir continuously with a wooden spoon until completely melted.

   Add the sugar and stir until combined.

   Remove the mixture from the heat and allow to steep for 10 minutes.

   Return to the stove over low heat and gently return to a simmer before serving.
