In medium bowl mix ground beef & sausage together. Add rice. Season with with salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.

In large pot bring water to boil. Cutting cabbage from bottom, remove as much of core as possible. To boiling water add cabbge. Do not cook. Remove cabbage leaves as they become pliable. Layer drained leaves on a cookie sheet.

Taking leaves individually put a mount of meat mixture on each leaf and roll. In large pot put layer of excess leaves on bottom and begin to layer cabbage rolls. Put more excess cabbage leaves on top. Fill with water to cover rolls. Squish stewed tomatoes and pour over rolls and add catsup. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Bring to a boil lower flame and cook for 1 1/2 hours.

Serve with green salad and buttered cooked carrots.
