3/4 cup minced onion
2 tbsp butter
1 1/2 lb lean ground beef
2 tbsp butter, softened
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp thyme
1 egg
1/2 cup flour
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1/2 cup red wine *can sub broth*

Start by melting your butter in a skillet and sautee your onions down until translucent.

When onions are soft add into a bowl with meat, softened butter, salt, pepper, thyme, and egg.

Mix together to form 4 patties.

Place the patties into the fridge to chill for at least an hour.

Prepare skillet by melting butter and oil over medium-high heat.

Gently roll burgers in flour and place in hot skillet.

Sear both sides of the burgers then turn down heat to medium-low to cook through.

When burgers are cooked, remove them from the pan and drain off all the grease from the skillet.

Deglaze the pan of all of the bits of meat by adding wine to the pan and whisking.

When the broth reduces and in the tab of butter.

Pour the sauce over the burgers.

I topped my burgers with Munster cheese and added a little bit of butter (might as well, what is one more tab after all) then browned in the oven.
