Preheat oven to 350F. Grease a 9 x 13 pan.

Beat eggs in a large bowl until thick about 3 minutes. Beat in sugar gradually about 1 minute more. Mix in soft butter, vanilla and dry ingredients (all remaining brownie ingredients except the nuts) at low speed using your mixer. Scrape sides of bowl often. Stir in chopped walnuts if using. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 - 35 minutes. Although I have found my oven does it in 25. Check it often so not to overcook. You want the brownies to be nice and fudgey. When done, remove from heat and cool in pan. Once cooled, glaze them.

For the glaze: Melt the chocolate with the butter and milk. Do this over low heat, or in a double boiler, or for 30 second heat increments in the microwave. Stir often and continue heating until smooth. Then remove from heat and add powdered sugar. Blend well. Spread over cooled brownies. These are awesome!!
