2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 oz. square semi-sweet chocolate
1 1/2 c. butter
2 c. raisins
3 c. applesauce
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2 sticks butter
2 c. sugar
2/3 c. cream
1 c. chocolate chips
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift first 6 ingredients together and set aside.

Place applesauce in saucepan and bring to a boil; add chocolate and butter, stirring until melted.

Pour into greased and floured pan. Choose either tube pan or layer pans.
