2 x 440g cans white beans, rinsed and drained
375mls beer
1/4 cup golden syrup
2 tablespoons VEGEMITE
2 tablespoons white wine vinegar
2 tablespoons tomato paste
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
French toast, for serving
Crispy cooked bacon, for serving

HEAT the oil in a large saucepan and saute the onion for 5 minutes or until golden.

Add the garlic and cook for a further minute.

Stir in the beans, beer, golden syrup, VEGEMITE, vinegar, tomato paste and mustard.

Simmer gently for 20-25 minutes or until the sauce has thickened .

Serve with French toast and bacon.
