Combine cake flour, baking pwdr, and salt, stir well and set aside.

Beat 3 egg yolks in a large mixing bowl at high speed of an electric mixer for 1 minute.

Gradually add in 3/4 c. sugar, beating constantly till egg yolks are thick and pale, about 5 min.

Add in vanilla and 1/4 c. water, beating at low speed till well blended.

Add in flour mix to egg yolk mix beating at low speed till blend- ed and set aside.

Beat 5 egg whites at room temperature at high speed till foamy.

Gradually add in remaining 1/4 c. sugar, 1 Tbsp.

at a time, beating till still peaks form.

Gently stir one fourth of the egg white mix into the batter.

Gently mix in the remaining egg white mix.

Pour batter into an ungreased 10 inch tube pan.

Bake at 350F for 35 min or possibly till cake springs back when touched lightly in center.

Invert pan; cold 45 min.

Loosen cake from sides of pan, remove.
