Barbecue Beans

   Brown meat and onion in a small amount of fat in a skillet. Add beans, barbecue sauce and ketchup.

   Also add brown sugar and chili powder, if used.

   Turn into a 2-quart casserole; sprinkle with chopped bell pepper and bake in a 350u00b0 oven until it bubbles all over.

   Sometimes I use a heavy iron skillet to brown the onions and meat.

   Add the chopped pepper also to this and combine everything; then simmer on top of stove, until heated through. Saves time and easier on cooling system in summer.
