Baked Chicken And Rice

   In a frying pan, brown chicken on both sides, in shortening for about 10 minutes.

   Grease a Pyrex casserole or other baking pan, then place rice on bottom, add dots of butter and onion soup mix. Mix the mushroom soup with a half can of water and add to rice. Mix rice mixture thoroughly.

   Place chicken pieces on top and bake in a 350u00b0 to 375u00b0 oven for one hour or until tender.
