   Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

   Slice 1/4-inch off the bottoms of the apples (so they stand up straight) and core them.

   Combine the brown sugar, sugar, cinnamon, pecans, and lemon zest in a small bowl and fill the center of each apple with a quarter of the mix.

    Dot each apple with the remaining butter.
