Drain water chestnuts, marinate in soy sauce and a splash of Worcestershire sauce for 45 - 60 minutes

Remove chestnuts from soy sauce mixture, reserve mixture for marinade.

Combine soy sauce mixture, a splash of white vinegar, bbq sauce, maple syrup and brown sugar in a small mixing bowl. Adjust amounts of each to taste, texture should be on the thicker side so it can easily coat while baking.

Cut bacon strips into 1/3s or 1/2s

Wrap each chestnut in bacon and secure with toothpick

Bake on jelly roll pan for 10 - 15 minutes, until until bacon starts to render

After the initial 10 - 15 minutes , baste with marinade every ~10 minutes until a caramelized glaze forms and bacon has a crunch.
