Dissolve yeast and 2 tablespoons sugar in lukewarm water. Scald milk.

Add shortening, sugar and salt. Cool to lukewarm. Add 2 cups flour to make batter. Add yeast mixture and eggs. Beat well. Add remaining flour or enough to make a soft dough.

Knead lightly and place in greased bowl. Cover and set in warm place free from draft.

Let rise until doubled in size, about 2 hours. When light, punch down and shape. Cook the bacon and onion until done.

Add a dash of pepper.

When cool, strain off excess bacon grease. Take a pinch of dough. Spread out flat by hand.

Put some bacon in open dough. Turn up sides and ends so all bacon is covered by dough and place on cookie sheet (greased). Dab milk over top of bacon buns. Bake at 350u00b0 for 30 minutes or so.
