1/2 cup butter
2 cups chopped celery
1 1/2 cups chopped onion
4 cups ketchup
2 cups water
2/3 cup cider vinegar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon liquid smoke flavoring
1 tablespoon garlic powder

Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, until sauce is thickened, about 10 minutes.
