In a sauce pan, melt the butter, add the milk, heat till lukewarm and add the yeast. Mix the sugar, yeast mixture and cream cheese with a whisk. Stir in 1 egg. Add the flour with a pinch of salt and knead with the dough hook of a hand mixer for 5 minutes to make a smooth dough. Cover the dough and leave in a warm place for about 45 minutes.

Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces and shape into balls. Put the balls on 2 baking sheets lined with parchment paper. Slice each dough ball with three deep cuts from the center outwards. Cover again for 10 minutes. Mix 1 egg with 1 tsp milk and brush the rolls. Sprinkle half of the rolls with granulated sugar.

Preheat the oven to 350 Fu00b0. Place an ovenproof bowl with boiling water in the preheated oven. Bake the rolls one tray at a time, for about 18 minutes each. Take out, and let cool. Sprinkle bread with powdered sugar.
