In a saucepan, combine the sugar, cinnamon, and a few cups of the apple juice. Stir over medium-low heat for a few minutes, or just long enough to dissolve the sugar. Allow the mixture to cool.

Combine remaining apple juice and vodka in a large glass jug or airtight container. Add the apple juice, cinnamon, and sugar mixture. Stir.

Place the container in your cupboard or in a closet (avoid the light) for about one month.

Serve as an after-dinner drink or with dessert. I recommend serving it at room temperature but I have also seen it chilled or poured over ice. It travels well and I originally tasted it while we were camping with some friends. It's become sort of a camping tradition for us.
