Put apples in medium size saucepan.

Pour in sugar and cinnamon mixture.

Stir well and cook for 15 minutes. Turn off gas while apples are cooking.

Make Basic Pie Crust.

Gently lay uncooked pie crust in bottom of 9-inch pie plate. Sprinkle bottom of pie crust with 1/2 tablespoon of cornstarch.

Pour in apples. Dot with 1 tablespoon butter.

Sprinkle again with 1/2 tablespoon cornstarch. Cover top with other rolled pie crust. Trim edge and seal. Slit center of pie crust. Prick around top with a fork. Brush top with beaten egg. Bake at 350u00b0 for 1 hour.

If edges start to turn brown, cover with tinfoil.
