Apple Nut Squares Recipe

   Squares: Combine sugar, oil, Large eggs, soda, flour, apples, vanilla and nuts.

   Mix well; batter is stiff.

   Spread proportionately in a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.

   Bake for 1 hour in a preheated oven at 325 degrees.

   Cake can be iced while still hot.

   Topping: Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan.

   Cook over low heat.

   Bring to a boil and cook for 2 min longer.

   Spread topping on squares.

    Cold cake squares completely before cutting.
