Apple Crisp

   Spread apples in buttered shallow baking dish (about 2-quart capacity).

   Combine sugar, flour and cinnamon.

   Mix butter and vanilla and add to flour mixture, tossing with a fork to make a crumbly mixture.

   Sprinkle evenly over apples.

   Bake at 400u00b0 for 30 to 40 minutes or until brown and apples are tender.

   Let cool partially, then top with cream.
