For the cinnamon cream cheese frosting:
2
Use a mixer on low to whip together all the ingredients. Set aside.
3
For the turnovers:
4
Preheat oven to 400u00b0F.
5
Wash, peel and dice the apples. Place them in a saucepan with water, sugar and cinnamon. Cook for 5-10 minutes over low heat until the apples are soft. Remove from heat and stir in 1/2 cup cinnamon cream cheese frosting.
6
Take out puff pastry sheets and cut each one into 4 equal squares. Place equal spoonfuls of the apple mixture into the middle of each square. Fold over into triangles and seal the edges with the end of a fork. Brush the outsides with the beaten egg.
7
Poke holes in each turnover and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. If you don't have parchment paper, use aluminum foil sprayed lightly with cooking spray to prevent them from sticking. Bake for about 20 minutes; I would advise checking your turnovers after 15 minutes. Mine were perfect after exactly 17 minutes.
8
Frost or drizzle turnovers with additional cinnamon cream cheese frosting and enjoy.
