1/2 c. Crisco
11/2 c. Sugar
2 x Large eggs
11/2 ounce Red food coloring
1 tsp Vanilla
11/2 tsp Cocoa, (Nestles instant)
1 tsp Salt
21/2 c. Cake flour
1 c. Buttermilk
1 tsp Soda
1 tsp Vinegar
21/2 Tbsp. Flour
1/2 c. Lowfat milk
1/2 c. Sugar
1/2 c. Crisco and 1 Tablespoons butter
1 tsp Vanilla

Cream shortening, sugar and Large eggs.

Make paste of coloring and cocoa.

Add in to shortening mix.

Add in lowfat milk alternately with flour and salt.

Add in vanilla.

Mix in vinegar and soda (paste, see above).

Pour into prepared pans and bake 30 min at 350 .
