Mix wine, oil, sugar and salt. In a separate bowl, mix baking powder and flour. Combine the two bowls of ingredients, let sit for 10 minutes. Spray a cookie sheet with oil. Take a small amount of dough in hand (approximately 2 tablespoons) and roll it out in your hand. Then twist it into a coil or snail shape. Place it on the cookie sheet. These will expand some, so leave room between biscuits.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 12-15 minutes, until bottoms start to brown.

Use a red wine, it does not matter what type. I use whatever red I have around, normally a Burgundy, but my mother swears by Manishevitz. The biscuits will be a purple shade in color, but don't let if frighten you. We noticed that when we tried to use a sugar substitute (Splenda), they turned green, so I would use regular granulated sugar.
