1
Preheat the oven to 350F.
-
2
In a large oven-safe skillet, brown your meat and onions.
-
3
(While you are doing this, its a good time to cut all but one of the biscuits in half.
-
4
Good job for the kids.)
-
5
Add your bbq sauce and brown sugar to the skillet and stir well.
-
6
If you use a really sweet sauce, you may not want to add the sugar.
-
7
At this point, you can add some seasoning to your mixture.
-
8
I like garlic salt and a dash of hot sauce, but this is the place to make it your own.
-
9
Drain the beans a little bit and then stir in the beans and heat through.
-
10
If you are feeding a large family and need to stretch this on a budget, you can easily add more beans.
-
11
Arrange cut biscuits in the shape of a wagon wheel on the top.
-
12
I roll the one uncut biscuit into a ball and flatten it, then place halves around the outside of the pan with the round part on the outside.
-
13
Then I take the remaining biscuits and roll into spokes (or let the kids do this, just like snakes in playdough).
-
14
Sprinkle with cheddar cheese, and bake in the oven for about 20 minutes.
-
15
Be careful when you take it out, its hot and heavy.
