1 cup sugar
1 large egg, beaten
2 tablespoons apricot preserves
1 cup whole milk
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon nutmeg
2 teaspoons baking soda
Syrup
1/2 cup white wine vinegar
1 cup sugar
11/2 cup water
1 teaspoon grated lemon zest
