1
Set up your workstation: put out all your decorations and toppings into bowls or on paper plates for easy access.
-
2
Spray either a) a large gingerbread cookie pan b) a 9x13 inch casserole dish or c) two 12-cup muffin pans with cooking spray.
-
3
Add the butter and marshmallows to a large microwave-safe bowl and microwave for 20 second intervals until the butter and marshmallows have melted.
-
4
(Be sure to check in between each 20 second interval and stir to keep the marshmallows from overflowing).
-
5
Remove bowl from the microwave and stir in cereal until well coated with marshmallow mixture.
-
6
Press this mixture into your prepared pan(s).
-
7
It will be warm and sticky, so you can either wear plastic gloves or use a piece of parchment paper to push/shape the cereal mixture so that it conforms to the pan you are using.
-
8
Let this mixture cool in the pan until it is set and no longer warm to the touch, then remove, cut into portions if desired, and proceed with decorating!
-
9
To decorate: Add white chocolate chips to a medium heavy-duty plastic bag and microwave for 10 second intervals, massaging between each 10 second session, until it is melted.
-
10
Snip off a corner of the bag, then pipe onto the cooled cereal treats.
-
11
Push/sprinkle any of the assorted decorations onto the still-warm white chocolate.
-
12
Let chocolate set and then serve!
