1
In a large bowl, add turkey, 1/4 of an onion (finely grated), cumin, chili powder and a dash of salt and pepper.
-
2
Using your hands, mix it all together well because there is nothing worse than to bite into a big bite of cumin or chili powder.
-
3
Form them into 1-inch thick patties that are a little larger then the bun.
-
4
The ground turkey has a little bit of fat in it so it will shrink a little.
-
5
Lightly salt and pepper each patty.
-
6
Place patties on a piping hot nonstick pan with a 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
-
7
Cook for at least 5 minutes on each side.
-
8
While you are cooking the burgers, in a medium-sized skillet brown remaining onion (sliced) in the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
-
9
Cook them until brown and tender.
-
10
Once you flip the burger, add enough slices of cheddar cheese to cover it well.
-
11
Cook 5 minutes on this side and then it is ready to serve.
-
12
I like mine on a brioche roll toasted with butter, topped with onions.
-
13
Note: I add the onions on top and mayo and mustard on my bun.
-
14
That is it.
-
15
Very simple and absolutely delish.
