Ingredients: 1 (4 ounce) packagebaker's german's sweet chocolate; ½ cup water, boiling; 1 cup butter (2 sticks); 2 cups sugar; 4 eggs, separated; 1 teaspoon vanilla; 2 cups flour; 1 teaspoon baking soda; ½ teaspoon salt; 1 cup buttermilk

Pour batter into into 3 9inch layer pans.

Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until cake springs back when lightly pressed in center.

Immediately go around the pan with a knife to tear it away from the pan but keep the cake in the pans for 15 minutes.
