Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

Add eggs, sugar, coffee, buttermilk, oil and vanilla. Beat for 2 minutes on medium speed. Batter will be runny. Pour into prepared pans.

Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in the pan for ten minutes, then cool throughly on a wire rack.

Remove pan from heat and add the chocolate and instant coffee. Cut the butter into small pieces and add to the mixture, whisking until smooth. Transfer into a bowl and cool until it reaches a spreadable consistency. You can chill it for about 30 minutes if necessary.
