   Grease 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish or pan with shortening.

   Beat egg in mixing bowl.

   Add undrained corn and half of cheese to egg; mix with wooden spoon.

   Add dry muffin mix.

   Stir until the dry ingredients are wet (the batter will be thick).

   Spoon batter into baking dish.

   Arrange sausage links on top of batter.

   Bake in oven at 400u00b0 about 30 minutes or until top is golden.

   Sprinkle with remaining cheese.

    Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
