Ingredients: 1 c. flour; 1/2 tsp. salt; 1/3 c. shortening; 3 to 4 Tbsp. cold water; 2 medium apples, cored and thinly sliced (2 c.); 2 slightly beaten eggs; 1 1/2 c. light cream; 2/3 c. brown sugar; 3 medium sweet potatoes, cooked, peeled and mashed (2 c.); 1 tsp. cinnamon; 1/4 tsp. salt; 1/4 tsp. nutmeg

1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. shortening
3 to 4 Tbsp. cold water
2 medium apples, cored and thinly sliced (2 c.)
2 slightly beaten eggs
1 1/2 c. light cream
2/3 c. brown sugar
3 medium sweet potatoes, cooked, peeled and mashed (2 c.)
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg

In bowl, stir together flour and the first 1/2 teaspoon salt. Cut in shortening until piece are the size of small peas.

Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of the water over part of the mixture; toss with a fork to moisten.

Add remaining water, a tablespoon at a time, tossing until all of the mixture is moistened.

Form into a ball, flatten on lightly floured surface.

Place pastry in a 9-inch pie plate; crimp edges high.

Place apples in bottom of pastry.

In bowl, combine potatoes, eggs, cream, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg; beat until smooth.

Pour over apples.

Cover edges of crust with foil.
