-
1
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
-
2
In a skillet over medium heat saute the peppers, onion and garlic for about 4 minutes.
-
3
Remove veggies from pan.
-
4
Next, brown the sausage in the skillet over medium heat until no pink shows; drain grease.
-
5
Set sausage aside for assembly.
-
6
Lay pizza dough flat on your counter (or on a cookie sheet if you are not using a pizza peel).
-
7
Distribute pepperoni slices and sausage over one half/side of the dough (youre eventually going to fold the other half of the dough over to create the stromboli).
-
8
Add the veggies.
-
9
Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
-
10
Fold dough over and pinch ends and sides together.
-
11
Cut slits in the top of the stromboli and brush melted butter on it.
-
12
Sprinkle with pizza seasoning.
-
13
Place the corn meal on your pizza peel to allow the stromboli to come off easily.
-
14
If you are not using a pizza peel and pizza stone, sprinkle corn meal onto your baking sheet directly below where you will place the stromboli.
-
15
Cook in a preheated oven for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
-
16
Slice into individual sections to serve with warm pizza or marinara sauce.
-
17
**The cornmeal is completely optional in this recipe.
-
18
Although, I do like the texture and crunch it adds it is not a recipe breaker to not have it.
