Wash the strawberries. Hull them. Then slice them and put them into a bowl and sprinkle 1/2 cup of sugar over top. Stir together and put strawberries in the fridge so the sugar can make a juice for the strawberries.

Heat oven to 375 F. In a mixing bowl, blend all of the cake ingredients (except the last 1/4 cup of sugar) thoroughly with a fork. Beat vigorously for 30 seconds.

Pour into a greased 9 x 9 baking dish. Sprinkle the top with 1/4 cup sugar if desired. Bake for 25 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted into the center comes out clean.

To serve: Cut cake and place strawberries over top and if you wish to eat it the Jones family way put the cake in a bowl, place strawberries over top and cover it with milk... Enjoy!
