Strawberry Sauce

   In a medium sized bowl, cut into chunks about 1/3 of the berries, reserve these for later.

   Leave the other 2/3's whole or cut up, whichever you prefer.

   Place them in a sauce pan over medium heat.

   Add the sugar and simmer until thick, about 10 minutes.

   Remove the sauce from heat and set on counter to cool about 5 minutes, stir in the vanilla.

   Place the cooked berry sauce in the blender and puree.

   Combine the berry puree with the reserved, uncooked berries.

   Store in covered container in the refrigerator.
