Strawberry French Macarons

   Preheat oven to 300u00b0F. Grease and line 2-3 baking trays with parchment paper.

   Whip egg whites to soft peaks. Add sugar and a few drops of food coloring, beating until sugar dissolves. Fold in 1 1/4 cups powdered sugar, ground almonds and strawberry puree. Transfer to a piping bag fitted with a 1/2 inch plain tip.

   Pipe 1 1/2 inch rounds about 1 inch apart onto prepared trays. Tap trays on a table so macarons spread slightly. Let stand for 30 mins.

   Bake macarons for about 20 mins. Let cool on trays.

   Sandwich macarons together with jam. Dust with remaining powdered sugar.
